Network Resilience and Secure Access Case Study | Ambsan Technologies

An organization was facing significant operational risks due to single points of failure within its network infrastructure, highlighting the need for stronger network resilience and secure access capabilities. The entire environment relied on a single firewall system and a single ISP connection, which meant that any hardware malfunction or internet outage could immediately disrupt business operations.

In addition, the organization lacked a secure and structured method for enabling remote users to access internal systems, making it difficult to support remote work while maintaining proper network resilience and secure access controls.

The key issues included:

  • Critical network infrastructure without redundancy
  • Heavy dependence on a single ISP connection
  • Limited capability to support secure remote access
  • Network traffic that lacked intelligent routing and optimization

These limitations increased the risk of downtime, reduced operational reliability, and highlighted the urgent need for improved network resilience and secure access across the organization’s infrastructure.

Impact

Challenge

Our challenge was to design a network architecture that could eliminate single points of failure while ensuring consistent performance and strong security.

The solution needed to deliver:

  • High availability for critical security infrastructure
  • Automated failover mechanisms to maintain connectivity
  • Intelligent network traffic routing across multiple internet providers
  • Secure encrypted access for remote users
  • Performance and policy configurations tailored to the organization’s operational environment

The goal was to create a resilient, always-on infrastructure capable of supporting both on-site operations and remote access securely.

Solution

At Ambsan Technologies, we implemented a high-availability and secure network architecture that focused on redundancy, intelligent routing, and encrypted connectivity.

High Availability Firewall Cluster

We deployed a dual-node firewall cluster to eliminate the firewall as a single point of failure.

  • Configured a hardware failover system with primary and secondary nodes
  • Prioritized the primary node to ensure consistent performance
  • Enabled continuous synchronization between both firewall devices

This configuration ensures that if the primary firewall fails, the secondary system immediately takes over without disrupting operations.

Intelligent SD-WAN Deployment

To address ISP dependency and connectivity risks, we implemented a multi-ISP SD-WAN configuration.

  • Configured automatic path selection based on real-time link performance
  • Enabled intelligent traffic distribution across multiple internet connections
  • Established automated failover during ISP outages

This allows the network to automatically route traffic through the most reliable connection at any given time.

Secure Remote Access (SSL VPN)

To support the client’s remote workforce, we deployed a Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) solution.

  • Created encrypted tunnels for secure remote connectivity
  • Enabled authorized users to access internal systems from any location
  • Implemented strong authentication and access control policies

This ensures remote users can work securely while maintaining full protection of internal resources.

Environment Optimization

We further optimized the infrastructure by configuring custom security policies and performance tuning tailored to the organization’s operational requirements.

This allowed the network to maintain strong security controls while delivering consistent performance across all connected systems.

Result

Through this implementation, Ambsan Technologies successfully delivered a resilient and secure network environment for the organization.

Key outcomes included:

  • Elimination of single points of failure
  • Seamless firewall failover verified through simulated hardware failure testing
  • Automatic traffic rerouting during ISP outages
  • Secure and reliable remote access for employees
  • Improved network performance, reliability, and security

The organization now operates on a highly available, always-on network infrastructure, ensuring business continuity and secure connectivity for both on-site and remote operations.
